Relativism and the effect I witnessed on women

Today’s liberal relativist woman holds herself with a certain bitterness. Sometimes her appearance is neglected, as it is a liberal thing to eschew female beauty, creating a cycle of self loathing that she cannot quite put her finger upon

Remember the “Free to be you and me” record with Marlo Thomas? Produced in the late 1960’s, it was an effort to influence children to be individualists. The story about “Atalanta” ends with her not wanting to marry the best man in the kingdom, but wanting to travel the world. The story in which a girl is overly concerned with keeping her fine clothes clean ends with her getting eaten by a tiger

The message - eschew marriage, hold girls and women who care for their appearance in contempt and be happy if they die a horrible death

Another source of bitterness for the liberal stems from the conviction that reality is malleable and constantly re-formed by society and by off-handed comments at social gatherings

Now they cannot quite put this into words - you have to step out of the box in order to understand this dynamic that permeates liberal culture, and it is this

Reality is created by people’s attitudes

Off-handed comments at social gatherings are what forms society

The more off-handed and casual such comments are, the more they appear to be just part of the woodwork, the background noise, the basic assumptions that you cannot separate yourself from to get a perspective on

I love the following line from the book, “A Time to Rend a Time to Sew”, by Rachel Pomerantz; a young woman who found religion confronted her still-relativist sister

I wonder at you Lynn! For leaving the basic assumptions on which you live your life un-examined, to be decided by the majority vote of those around you

Liberal relativists are not allowed to think. They are bitter because the way they are living contradicts basic human needs, and because those relativists who “made it” as relativists are few and far between. Those who have made it are elitists comparable to the top of a multi level marketing pyramid. Once the market gets saturated with relativist rebels, well there is no more room for any more

And you realize if you stay on this path, you likely to succeed only if you are well-paid activist, lawyer, journalist, politician, or just another leftist professor. You need to be well compensated to compensate for the likelihood of your lifetime loneliness

Oh a few charmers have it all - there are those rebellious feminists while at the same time talented enough to be married to a man who is loyal to her. But look closely - in these rare occasions, she is probably particularly charming and, whether intentionally or not, working with a split personality - nurturing to her husband in the privacy of her home, shaking her fists in the air when outside at some protest

Women who cannot maintain this split lifestyle, this double life, may find themselves lonely indeed

Some basic human needs are:i

Loyalty in a long term and exclusive committed intimate relationship

Sexual intimacy exclusive to a committed relationship

Children

Abortion only in cases in which the woman’s life is threatened, otherwise, mother and child share a natural bond even if the pregnancy was unplanned. This bond is sometimes felt before the woman knows she is expecting

Feminine beauty. Now some women are naturally earthy types and thrive in turtle necks and jeans and make-up free, that is fine, my point is that women who are pressured to eschew what makes them fell beautiful in their own way can develop a feeling of self loathing

Liberal relativists eschew basic human needs, resulting in a bitter population that will likely be prodded into activism rather than into self-evaluation

I have seen this bitterness among members of the Jewish community who are attempting to create “alternative” Jewish movements. You see a bitterness about them. I am telling you on the cover of a reform Jewish magazine, I was astonished at the bitter and defiant facial expressions on the face of two women and one man who were apparently leading prayer services. In such a situation, they could not smile?i

No they could not, because the market gets saturated fast, because each of them were actually competing with each other, and decidedly not building community. Each needed to carve out his or her niche and desperately try to influence others in order to carve out their place - otherwise, face being forgotten

They are not links in the chain of tradition, beloved by children and grandchildren. They are individualists who want to make a name for themselves

I attended two country clubs. To get into a country club and use their pool and tennis courts, you need to either

Be a member. Being a member is expensive. So, you need to

A - have been born financially well off, or

B - have worked to be financially well off, or

2 - Have a guest pass, that is, enter the club as a friend of a well-off member

So anyone can visit a country club, it is an elitism which anyone can potentially take part it

But the elitism of relativism is not. The market gets saturated quickly, leaving people who did not make it there, very bitter indeed
